I decided to give these Taking Stock posts a shot, and I quite enjoyed the process. I had hoped to post one a couple of months ago but never quite completed it and so here we are . . .
Making: an effort to be more conscious of time and structuring myself and my life. I’m in pursuit of serious self-improvement and refinement right now and it needs proper planning and diligence. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Cooking: a foreign dish and trying to get it just right although to be honest I’m typically doing things my own way and maybe that’s why I haven’t quite nailed it yet. Maybe conformity is key in this situation.
Drinking: a lot of pineapple juice. I’m so in love with it lately plus it’s taking me back to my Primary school days with the juice boxes J
Reading: and re-reading about 5 books at the moment. And more news items than I have in a while. Fell off my information wagon but back in the driver’s seat now. Plus, reading is God’s first commandment.
Wanting: to travel the world and being frustrated that it only seems like wishful thinking.
Looking: for peace.
Playing: Prince!
Deciding: on whether or not to go on a camping trip to Lake Magadi. The trip is via train and I’m so excite about that as I’ve never been on a train and always wanted to but then again, terrified of that Lake Magadi heat. I swear I can still feel it from my last visit about a decade ago.
Wishing: there was another long weekend starting tomorrow.
Enjoying: my late nights. The serenity and clarity.
Waiting: to exhale. Sounds cliché but the feeling is tense.
Liking: my new iPhone 6s J first time iPhone user and quite enjoying the experience so far.
Wondering: where all my pens go to . . .
Loving: the short, memorable, practical, applicable lessons in Paulo Coelho’s Manual of the Warrior of Light
Watching: Charmed!!! Remember Charmed? The power of three? My friend Ikram started and I just had to too. So good to be “back”.
Hoping: my skin clears up soon.
Marvelling: at Sharon Mundia of ThisIsEss . . . I mean, she has launched a clothing collection with/for Vivo! How amazing is that? Congrats again Sharon.
Needing: a holiday somewhere with culture and adventure. Morocco!!!! I need you!!!!
Smelling: the wonderful scent from the small drawstring bag of spices I’ve been keeping in my bag.
Wearing: my hair in a ponytail as its too frizzy to let down and my head is still too achey to go under the drier.
Following: A LOT of workout and fitness pages all over my social channels hoping to get daily inspiration and proof that it can be done.
Noticing: my intuition is seldom off.
Knowing: I haven’t achieved a majority of what I intended to this year and time is swiftly flying by. It’s weighing heavily on me.
Thinking: that much more like an adult as the days go on. I don’t know whether to be impressed or scared.
Admiring: all the people I know who are pursuing and living their dreams no matter how outlandish.
Sorting: through some of my old writing for a very personal project/gift from me to me just to remind me that sometimes the best teacher is your inner survivor.
Buying: more and spending more on these online stores than I ought to. I just can’t help it. Until buyer’s remorse kicks in and then I’m like “why, Oshin, why?”
Getting: so stoked about Mindspeak on the 28th of May. I have not attended in so long and I really can’t wait to be back!
Bookmarking: some really cool DIY pages for when I get some down time to get crafty J
Disliking: all these protests and demonstrations and having to get several security alerts because of them. Why do we always act like this?
Opening: myself up to the future and all its grand possibilities. I need to stop doubting everything and believe.
Giggling: and snorting at my embarrassing attempts at this running man challenge. I look like I’m stuck in a blender!
Feeling: all the feels.
Snacking: on these sinful pure butter shortbread biscuits like every day. I’m addicted.
Coveting: loyalty.
Wishing: I didn’t have to wish for some things *sigh* I have so much yet to achieve. God give me strength.
Hearing: cars swishing by on the road outside which means NO TRAFFIC!!!! I’m outta here! Bye bye!
Welcome back
A train to Magadi? The soda ash company runs a busy cargo rail. Write about it when you do
