Valentine’s Day Makeup Looks

Love is in the air! Is that why Nairobi is so hot? Everywhere I turn, red, red red! Yes, my office walls and chairs are red hahaha. You got me. But, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I’m sure a lot of romantics are just counting down to it. V Day is especially a big deal to the women who are into it . . . all the pressure for it to be perfect . . . to look perfect. Well, I decided to share 3 makeup looks that are ideal for a special V Day. These looks are simple, elegant and beautiful, no matter what style fits you. And they aren’t all red!

FLIRTY

It’s light, it’s fun, it’s soft, it’s feminine and has a very youthful appeal to it. We kept both my eyes and lips light going for pink all through. I love that it’s not so prominent yet sweetly, subtly pretty. This is great for when you don’t want to look like you’ve made too much of a fuss over your look. I paired this look with loose and free hair to compliment the airiness of it all.

ROMANTIC

I wanted something more bold, classic, seductive and old school glam for this look. And whats more romantic than red? This was fun to do because I got to wear faux lashes to add some dimension, attitude and drama to the whole look. We went light on the eyes and bright on the lips with a beautiful gold and siren red combination. Not only is this romantic, it’s quite sexy. There’s just something about red . . . I coupled this va va voom with a bun that also doubled up as a fringe! Haha. I had to try that style. I wanted hair that was bold but not loose so as not to clash with the striking red.

SULTRY

Dark, draped, mysterious, deep, mesmerising, smokey . . .  oh la la! It’s all about the eyes in this sultry look. We went really dark but added some shimmer to it for that X factor. Of course the big lashes were essential for this. Quite alluring. A nude or light lip works perfectly here because all the attention should be on the eyes. Sleek and simple straight hair with a middle parting is what I chose for this because again – it’s all about the eyes.

I had so much fun trying these looks out. They’re all so beautiful. The best part is they can be personalised to individual tastes or preferences. I know I’ll do the Flirty look with rose gold hues really soon (yes, like Huda Kattan I’m obsessed with rose gold now). The most important thing is to have a good time!

XO
