Something wicker this way comes . . . this cute little shoulder bag! Isn’t it lovely? Petite and perfect. I saw it on the Kilimall website here and I had to have it . . . and I got it for this review 🙂 Thank you Kilimall. They describe it as a retro style bag but for me it is a very unique twist on the usual African style accessories. You know the ones I’m talking about: animal hide, and tribal prints, and kikoy fabric, Ankara and the likes. All beautiful but really overdone. This little wicker woven and “leather” shoulder bag makes for a vintage beauty that makes me think of safaris and Out of Africa and cute little khaki dresses, casual espadrilles and floppy hats . . . casual Safari chic!
It’s a small bag which means I’ve had to be disciplined and pack only what is essential – none of my usual weird unnecessary knickknacks. And I’ve loved it. I feel so unburdened and light . . . it’s a whole new world for me not having to dig around to find my lippie or keys. Having everything handy and well in view. To be honest, it’s not that small, and can comfortably hold my Nivea deo spray can and a lotion. The strap is long enough for me to wear it across my chest and have it easily accessible on my side.
The design is quite fun and everyone who’s seen it on me has made a comment that it looks like a small treasure chest 🙂 I agree. The delicate wicker material is fragile though and I’ve been trying to keep it out of the rain because I fear it might fall apart. This is definitely a dry weather bag. Just fun in the sun for this one.
I love that it isn’t something everyone has and that even on the Kilimall site, what’s available now is in brown. I appreciate one of a kind pieces. They make a statement, and this bag really does that without being too loud. the neutral colours are ideal because it can be paired with a lot of different styles and schemes. I would definitely get a bigger model if they had one for the beach 🙂 All love on this one.
