I have a Lynk for everyone who, like I often am, is in desperate need for a mani-pedi but is too lazy to get off the couch and make the trip to the salon. Lynk Kenya! With them, you don’t have to get off the couch at all – they can come and handle your needs right in the comfort of your home. How amazing is that? Basically, Lynk Kenya is an online directory of artisans for everything you need from personal grooming to catering, household repairs to furniture. You just go on their website, sign up, figure out what you need, select from the options available and they send the artisans right to your doorstep. Convenient, affordable and quite frankly very much needed. Lynk is most definitely the plug!
They approached me last week to introduce me to their service and offered me a personal grooming treatment of my choice to which I said a very swift yes! So they sent over a lovely lady by the name of Dianne to my home to pamper me. The treatment I landed on was a mani-pedi because my feet were in dire need of some TLC but the offer was between that, waxing or a massage. Dianne came over and gave me a very thorough service: pedicure and gel manicure. I’ll admit, I’m not the girl who goes for gel manicures but I wanted to try something different and the fact that with gel I could finally try the colour changing nail polish, I agreed to it.
The entire ire experience was grand. Dianne came prepared with a huge bag full of tools of her trade and Lynk branded towels and an apron. It all felt really professional. It was quite lovely to be able to watch tv and chat with my mum while getting my hands and feet glammed up and I don’t know if I’ll be going to a salon any time soon for this because I’m now about this at-home life.
If you do book a mani-pedi through them, be sure to be ready to accommodate a few needs like having a basin to soak your feet in because honestly, that would be too much for the technician to lug around, and your soap for cleaning purposes. Everything else is handled by them. I was also pleased to know that they sterilize the tools before coming over and do one more round in front of you with a disinfectant. Very reassuring. And the way she set up everything before the session and had the branded workwear made me feel like I was at a salon, you know?
Lynk has been around for about 3 years from what one of their marketing people (who came along as well to meet me and took these pictures – thanks Vince!) and they have over 70 categories of services to choose from. I’m talking nannies and carpenters and drivers. Whatever you need, they’ve got you. You even get to see the profiles of all the artisans they work with on their website which makes it easy to make your selection. The prices are indicated too, so you can work with your budget. If you like a particular artisan, you can always keep making a request for them in future.
Just have a visit to their site and see for yourself. And if you and your girls would like to enjoy some pamper time together, they even have an option for a pedicure party. I saw on their page that the Over 25 ladies experienced this. Love it! So if you need someone to come to you, instead of the conventional other way around, try Lynk.
